NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WZTV) — Some of country music's greatest musicians gathered Monday on the red carpet to celebrate the legacy and career of Grammy award-winning musician Vince Gill.

CMT Giants: Vince Gill was taped at The Fisher Center of Performing Arts at Belmont University,

making it the first-ever televised performance event for campus' new performing arts center.

FOX 17 News spoke with celebrities including Carrie Underwood, Ricky Skaggs and Vince Gill himself.

American country phenomenon Carrie Underwood dazzled the red carpet Monday in honor of Vince.

"It's an honor to be here to honor Vince Gill," Carrie Underwood says. "He's somebody that has definitely made his mark in country music

and has an incredible voice, repertoire, catalog of songs.

 I just hope I can make him proud and do some justice to one of his, I think, greatest songs."

Underwood performed "Go Rest High on That Mountain" at Monday's taping.
