Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana 2024

Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana (PMUY), launched on 1 May 2016 by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has brought a new revolution in the Indian society with the slogan of ‘Clean Fuel, Better Life’. The main objective of this scheme was to make Indian kitchens smoke-free and to encourage women from poor families to use clean fuel.

Under this scheme, the government had set a target of providing free LPG connections to 5 crore poor families by 2019, which was successfully achieved. Subsequently, the target under the scheme was further expanded, so that more and more people could benefit from it.

Prime Minister Ujjwala Scheme Objective

Providing a healthy cooking fuel:- Through this scheme, poor families are provided with clean cooking fuel (LPG), instead of unhealthy alternatives to traditional fuels like wood and coal.
Preventing Air Pollution:- An important objective of this scheme is to reduce air pollution, which is caused by traditional methods of cooking.
Providing a clean cooking fuel:- The scheme provides clean and safe cooking fuel, thereby reducing health risks.

Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana Eligibility

Female head of household can apply: This scheme is mainly for women, so that they can use clean fuel for their family.
Applicant’s household should not previously have an LPG gas connection: This scheme is for those households that do not already have an LPG gas connection.
Applicant must be 18 years of age or older: The minimum age of the applicant for the scheme must be 18 years.
Both APL, BPL card holders can apply: Both APL and BPL card holders are eligible to avail the benefits of the scheme.

Ration Card: Shows the information and financial status of your family members.
Passport size photograph of the applicant: As personal identification for the application.
Mobile Number: For communication and information.
Aadhaar Card: Proof of personal identity and address.
Voter Card: Proof of identity and place of residence.
Bank Account: For subsidy transfer.

Click on Apply New Ujjwala 2.0 Connection: Click on the option given on the home page.
Select Gas Company: You have to select any one gas company among Bharat, Indane, HP.
Fill in the information and submit: Fill in the required information and submit the form.
Contact Gas Agency: After submitting the form, contact the selected gas agency to complete the further process.

By completing this process, eligible applicants can get free gas connection under Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana. So that they can get a healthy and safe cooking medium.
